Homemade Christmas Candy!

I finally decided to pay attention so my mom could teach me (again) how to make homemade Toffee and Caramels! They came out so delicious!!

Farm Birthday

For my Grandpa's 80th birthday party I made some farm animals using the Create a Critter cartridge with my Cricut E2 I also made a small banner using Creat a Critter and George and Basic Shapes cartridges.

Santa Handprints

I found this idea on Pinterest (it was a place you could buy these) So I found a recipe to make my own and after letting them dry for a couple of days my kids and I painted them to look like Santa heads

  Recipe:
1 c. cornstarch
2 c. baking soda
Mix these 2 ingredients together in a medium saucepan. Add:
1 1/2 c. cold water
Stir until smooth. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture reaches the consistency of slightly dry mashed potatoes. The mixture will come to a boil then start to thicken, first in lumps and then in a thick mass.Turn the mixture out onto a plate and cover it with a damp cloth while it cools. When it's cool enough to handle, knead it thoroughly on a cornstarch dusted surface until its smooth and pliable. Then store it in a tightly sealed container until its time to use.

*I did find making the circles are thin will make them crack. So make it fairly thick.

Pirate Party! ARGHH

A friend asked me to make her sons birthday cake, I had so much fun making this cake!

*I used the Hershey's Chocolate cake (from scratch) and then topped it with a butter cream icing. I used blue coloring and piping gel for the ocean, brown tinted butter cream and brown sugar for the sand, and green tinted fondant for the grass.

Car seat cover

I decided I needed a car seat cover for my daughter, she was due in September and people here touch kids way to much and with it being so hot and muggy out I didn't want people touching her! So I found a template and made it my own. Although I think it should be a bit smaller if I do it again...

I used snaps on the cover and then on the actual car seat fabric so when the wind kicks up it would stay put. (Also since it was to long it helped fold it up)
